At the Long County Board of Education, the 24-25 enrollment will close on May 8. The 25-26 enrollment will open on May 9.

ANOTHER ONE! Boys Track team takes the championship! For the first time EVER, LCMS boys and girls track team sweeps the track conference meet championship! Congratulations to our athletes and coaches for a job well done!

Exciting news! LCMS BETA is bringing back four awards!! Long County showed out at the Jr BETA Leadership Summit! Our Long Co teams qualified for nationals in Orlando in ALL three events (Collaboration Connections, Lead Outside the Box, and Project Proposal). Also 2nd place in the scavenger hunt.

The Long County School System encourages our parents and guardians to discuss the dangers of eating or inhaling unknown substances with our students. Certain candies, foods, beverages, and vapes can contain very dangerous substances that can cause harm to and compromise the health of our children. Please reiterate the importance of never eating, drinking, or inhaling any items that are obtained from strangers or other students. Additionally, please be informed that the possession, sale, or distribution of any unauthorized substances at our schools, athletic facilities, events, or on school buses will be punished to the fullest extent and violators will be referred to local law enforcement. The health and safety of our students are our top priorities. Therefore, we are seeking the assistance of our parents, families, and community to help us protect our children from accidentally or intentionally ingesting dangerous substances. Congratulations to our Young Georgia Author System Level Winners. We are very proud of their accomplishments in writing. These have been submitted for judging at First District RESA.

All faculty and staff of the Long County School System will return on Monday, October 7. We are pleased to announce that schools will reopen for students on Tuesday, October 8. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have diligently worked to safely return to normal operations.

Due to continued widespread power outages across our community, Long County Schools will remain closed for students and staff until further notice. Please continue to monitor our social media platforms for updates. It is our goal to reopen schools as soon as possible.
